BREAKING GROUND
So,when I first thought of revival,I thought it sounds like an old-fashion experience, something that doesnt really happen that much anymore.I thought about evangelistic campaigns, producing moral and social reformation. However,I’ve since learned that although these elements may be present in a time of revival, the definition is far deeper.
I quote,”In times of revival,God’s people experience His presence and power to a degree never thought possible.A revived individual,or the church as a whole is the greatest means of making God’s great redemptive plan known throught the world.”
As a christian, who doesnt want that? To experience His presence and power never thought possible!? Sadly, ever since Adam and Eve,as His chosen people, alot of times have chosen to resist His will and take life into our own hands. But,what strengthens me is that His Love calls us back to intimate fellowship with Him.Its about His Love which supplies us with grace, drawing us to repentance and revival. That process takes work though,as Hosea spoke to the Israelites,”Break up your fallow ground for it is time to seek the LORD,till He comes and rains righteousness on you.” Hosea10:12. If we as Gods children want to return to the ‘first love’ with Him,we must be prepared to break up the hard, empty ground of our spiritual lives. The areas that we dont want to deal with or things never seen before that God is now bringing to the surface.
Just a little insight on the definition of Fallow grounds- it is what once was plowed, but now lying waste-must be tilled(broken up)with a sharp plow in order to make the soil ready for seed and, ultimately, fruitful and productive.
Because of His love and desire of our growth,He walks us through the process of sanctification. No matter how far along you are in your walk with Him,there is ALWAYS the need for this.
